A customer can be allowed to pay for an order using more than one payment method. It is important that the cashier knows how to handle this kind of request from customers.
The following steps will guide a cashier on how to split payment for an order into several payment methods:
For example, if a customer has ordered products worth 30.00€, and the customer wants to split the payment using two different payment methods, indicating that 10€ for cash payment and 20€ for card payment, this can be done by following the instructions below:
Once the order has been made, that is the products have been added to the basket, navigate to the Order Overview screen by selecting Process Order.
Inside the To pay textbox, the amount indicated will be 30.00€ which is the total amount of the purchase order.
Edit this amount, tap once inside the To pay textbox.
Tap on Clear, the amount becomes 0.00€.
Type out the amount the customer wants to pay in cash which is 10.00€.
Select the first payment method, for example, Cash.
Select Confirm.
Select the money given or the amount tendered in cash. For example, if the customer gives a 10€ note, select 10. If the customer gives two 5€ notes, select 5 twice. The cashier can also select EVEN if the customer gives the exact note without requiring a change.
Select Confirm.
The PoS will indicate if the customer is to be given a change/balance.
Select CONFIRM.
The cash register box opens for the cashier to place the money given and the balance to be given to the customer (if any).
Inside the To Pay textbox, it will be noticed that 20.00€ is yet to be paid out of the 30.00€
Select the second payment method desired by the customer. For example, External payment.
Select Confirm.
The customer’s card will be charged 20.00€.
Select CONFIRM.
